So rather than Robyn Hitchcock make up some of the dates(including Toronto and Hamilton ones) he cancelled this year which were to be with The Sadies as his backing band, Mr. Hitchcock's hitting the road in the US in the new year with Minus 5.(Yay for US if you live there, boo for Canada. Grrr.) Minus 5 will be releasing their eponymous-titled new album(also being referred to as "The Gun Album") on February 7, 2006 and will feature members of Wilco, R.E.M., and The Decemberists. The Shins spoke to Rolling Stone about their upcoming album for Sub Pop which they will release under the title of either "Wincing the Night Away" or "Sleeping Lessons", references to frontman James Mercer's insomnia problem. The band hopes to release the album next summer. [via Waved Rumor]
