There's way too many lists for me to keep up with but some deserve some link-love. Are You Familiar? compiled The Alternative List of Canadian Bands By A Few of The Other Canadian Bloggers put together by himself, Goldkicks, and Stuart Berman (Eye Weekly). Also, check out(if you haven't yet already), Chromewaves Top 10 Albums of 2005.
Zoilus' Carl Wilson has an article in The New York Times about Toronto's Owen Pallett, aka Final Fantasy. [via Largehearted Boy]
Heads up on some Can-con indie torrent links including(links via Largehearted Boy):
The Arcade Fire is BBC Radio 1 Steve Lamacq's Headline Set for his December 12, 2005 show. Listen here(only archived for a week; Headline Set is about 1 hr and 15 min into the program). The show information/setlist is as follows:
Recorded live at Leadmill in SheffieldNo Cars Go Haiti Old Flame Neighborhood #1 Neighborhood #3 (Power Out) Rebellion(Lies) Neighborhood #2 (Laika)
While you're over at BBC Radio 1 Steve Lamacq's site, have a listen(about 56 min into the December 12, 2005 program) to the charity single of "The Twelve Days of Christmas" performed by a group of UK North East indie music acts(including members of The Futureheads) who've formed under the banner of 'The Joseph And Mary Chain'. (Check my post from last Friday for more info about the single.) If that doesn't get you into the Christmas spirit, I don't know what will.
